Blog 6 - Advisory Prep

These are some of the dogs I handled in the shelter
1. What has worked well for you concerning senior project this year?  What has made it a positive experience for you?
Well I am going to be a volunteer soon, at the Baldwin park animal care center. This was the only thing that want as planned. But this was a positive experience because even though I am not doing what I wanted I am still gaining more knowledge about dogs.

2. What are you finding difficult concerning senior project?  How can you adapt to make that portion work better for you?  How might the senior team help?
Thing I finding most difficult is trying to find a mentor for dog training. The reason trainers don't wouldn't want to be my mentors is because they are afraid that dogs might try to bite. Another difficult thing would be trying to come up with an essential question for my topic

Blog 5 - Interview 1 Reflection

Click here to listen to the interview audio

1. What is the most important thing I learned from the interview?  Is there anything I would do differently for other interviews?
The most important thing I learned was, resources that you read can teach you one thing and experience can teach you something way different. I actually wouldn't change anything for the other interviews. The first interview was actually pretty good because we took our time and I asked follow up questions (kinda).

2. Did I get additional resources and contacts?  What is the most useful?  Why?
This was one of the dogs that was talked about in the interview
I actually did get addition contacts but i didn't really get any sources. I feel like the contacts will actually be useful for my topic. I think they will help me because they know a bit more about dog behavior than my interviewee.

3. What makes my interviewee qualified to help me?
My interviewee was qualified to help me because he has worked at the shelter. So if he has work at the shelter for so long I would assumed he knows a lot about dog behavior. When I volunteer at the shelter he actually points out the dogs behaviors and how to handle the dogs.

Blog 4 - House Advisory Prep 1

Small steps can make a difference sometimes
Happy Dog, Happy Owner :)
Enjoy your life once in a while

Write a short explanation of what you are hoping to accomplish through your senior project topic.

One thing I would like to accomplish during senior project is to be able to help as many dogs and dog owners as I can. The way I can accomplish this by helping dogs that are in need of help (have behavior problems). So by helping the dog you can make them a happy dog, and a happy dog makes a happy owner. Another thing I would like to accomplish is to help as many dogs/animals in the animal shelter. I know these accomplish may not mean that much to others but little things like this can actually make a difference. Dogs can actually play a big role in your life. They teach us things we often forget later on in life, like- enjoying life.
